Rain, Rain

I love rainy days. I guess that's good since I do live in Oregon, and today is another of our trademark grey and rainy days...the perfect day (not that I need much incentive) to curl up at home with a good book and listen to the drip of the rain from the gutter, the patter of rain on the roof, the splash of raindrops making puddles in the grass. Rain is an intriguing phenomenon, I've decided. In some ways, it's gloomy and depressing, blocking out the sun and making the world look dreary. Yet that same greyness can be comforting and cozy, like a blanket wrapped snuggly around your shoulders. The cool of the rain refreshes, washing away worries and stress, reminding of all the blessings God rains down on us. And what joy to splash barefoot on the puddled ground or dash thru soggy grass to the mailbox! =)

Rain, rain, you can stay and come again some other day.

In My Own Little Corner

Welcome to my own little corner of the internet, where I can be whatever I want to be, dream impossible dreams, and never cease believing in fairy tales. I've never quite outgrown my girlhood love of all things Cinderella (thus the inspiration for the title of my blog and this evening's post), and I can't help but echo her songs. "On the wings of my fancy I can fly anywhere, and the world will open its arms to me..." and "Impossible things are happening every day."

The advantage I have over Cinderella is that, rather than a fairy godmother to make my dreams come true, I have a heavenly Father who delights in showering me with his perfect blessings...perfect because he knows my desires even better than I do. I can dream that someday I'll travel all over Europe, I can hope that someday I'll be a real writer and editor, I can wish that someday I'll meet my Prince Charming, but I've learned that my plans and dreams for my life, however grand they may seem, are so small in comparison the the "impossible" things God makes happen every day in my life.

All that to say...I don't know where I will take you in future blogs, but you can be certain my ramblings will be filled with thoughts, discoveries, lessons learned, blessings received, experiences enjoyed as I meander through this adventure called life. I hope you enjoy getting a little glimpse of my world...
