How to Order Pizza at Costco

First, you call the Costco food court about five hours ahead of time to place the order.

Then, they promptly lose the order.

At the appointed time, you navigate the chaotic Costco parking lot, snag a PTL (ie, praise the Lord) spot, and claim a place in line at the ever-popular food court.

Arrive at the front of the line and discover that they have no pizzas ready for you.

They try to convince you that someone else may have already picked up your pizzas. Wasn’t the lady who was in here earlier really picking up your order for you? It’s just way too much of a coincidence that two people would place the same order (one of each of the four kinds of pizza they offer—very unusual order, right?) on the same day!

Finally convince them that you would have been the only one picking up the pizzas and you definitely have not done so yet.

They reluctantly agree to make new pizzas for you and even offer you a free fountain drink while you wait.

Half an hour later, you emerge from the warehouse, realizing that efficiency and planning ahead are not appreciated at the Costco food court. But at least you got fresh, hot-out-of-the-oven pizzas!

Thanks for the story! The real question: call ahead to place an order or go in and pretend that the order has already been placed?!

... and while you're waiting for your pizza, lots more hot fresh baked pizzas come out of the oven get boxed up and when they have sat there for 20 minutes, they give you those pizzas, because they are too cold to sell by the slice.
